There are some local buy, swap and sell pages on eBay.

Pro - you don't have to pay commission on sales.

Con- you do connect on a more personal level with the people you are trying to sell to.

if there is a facebook selling group/page in your locality it can be great, some of them you have to be invited in, I've sold tons of stuff on the one I use and got a few bargains too. Usually you'd know about it as it would show on the side of your page as suggested groups if one of your friends or whatever is in it.
