Isn't it about time they started to prioritise vulnerable people? This money is literally a lifeline to some and will affect the rest of their lives. I wish we could vote on exactly where our taxes go.

We can start pixie by kicking this Tory-led shower out, at the next opportunity. Their record on treating disabled people badly is second to none...most if not all of the Remploy places are now closed. Disgraceful.
I admire them for fighting this and it's good to see that our system allows these sorts of appeals.
Are you aware though mikey that the money (£320 million) wasn't being stopped- it was being handed over to councils. The worry was that councils may be tempted to use some of it for other purposes
mikey....two points:

1) Only one post to your thread indicates how the majority people care about the disabled.
2) Remploy started to be closed down in 2008..........Labour NOT Tory government.
Even the Chancellor has just so much money.... ( = a set finite amount)

If you set aside £38 bn for banks because they are really a good thing
or you chums run them and there is your next job

then you have do without - aircraft carriers - or shipyards
or something else....

so it is inevitable that vulnerable groups get it in the neck in times of retrenchment [ or else by definition they wouldnt be vulnerable - another group would be ]

no money - no food on the table - its is the same for the rosy cheeked chancellor as it is for us.

anyway - I am glad the litigants won a limited victory....but doesnt really change the cr+p we are in as a result of unbridled greed of the bankers of yore.
//most if not all of the Remploy places are now closed.//

And those closures began when the Labour government closed 29 factories in 2008. Where's your criticism of that?
naomi...you are repeating my thread above.;-)
Sorry Sqad, cross-posted - but great minds think alike. ;o)
naomi...;-)
