..my best friend has been through hell and back with her soon to be ex husband...so to celebrate we are having one hell of a "happy divorce party"...

I would like to compile a compilation of songs to get the party off on the right note, so any apt songs you can think of , funny, sad, malicious, feelgood, anything relevant really..

.I've already got Billy Conally's D.I.V.O.R.C.E, and "I will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor and now my brain has ground to a halt...

By the way the unmentionable band above are allowed to be used in the BBC show Nevermind the ********* so why not here ed??

OK ermintrude...I hope you're ready cause I'm gonna give you some of my favorite "cheer up after a break-up" songs! I hope you will use these at your celebration and good luck to your friend and his son....

1.Destiny's Child- I'm a Survivor; 2.MC Hammer- Can't Touch This; 3.Bobby McFerrin- Don't Worry Be Happy; 4.Heart- Who Will You Run To; 5.Aretha Franklin- Respect!; 6.Beatles- Here Comes the Sun; 7.U2- With or Without you; 8.U2- Still Haven't Found What I'm Lookin For; 9.Three Dog Nite- Shambalah!; 10.Jeane Knight- Mr. Big Stuff; 11.Mirah Carey- I Will Make It Through the Rain

Now if those aren't great songs for your party, you can slap me silly!!!  ;0) And if some of them don't suit a man, you can make the needed "changes"....(i.e. "Miss Big Stuff) haha

Gonna get along without you now-Viola Wills                 Go your own way-Fleetwood Mac                                  I'm not in love-10cc                                                     Better of alone-Alice Deejay

In fact, if you want an excellent Queen covers band at your party - I know of one! Queen seem like the perfect feelgood band really, such inspirational tunes!

And Hann - "your friend and HIS SON?" The friend is a she, and it's her SOON to be ex-hubby! I felt I had to point it out, sorry!

OOPS! I guess due to my lack of sleep and boring work day today, I forgot how to read...

I did just realize that the friend is female! and she has no son! SORRY!

...WOW!!!! ...thankyou guys what fantastic suggestions, many which I already have, others I will be downloading asap!...

HAnn no worries, lol and by the way she does have a son strangley enough)

Mormess ..I love Queen and have most of those you mentioned, sadly due to lack of funds, and a very small house and miniscule garden , and us being in a remote part of Wales I dont think we could stretch to a Queen tribute band, tempting as it sounds..

Boobesque...I love it ! ...what a superb sence of yummy dark humour you have..perfect song!

..when I finally decide on my choices I will post you the final results on here..many many thanks to you all -x-
