It may well vary from bank to bank - the Nationwide one I know about is max £250 a month
For me, £40.
It depends which plan you are thinking of, too. Our bank has several different ones.
Some accounts have a limit but some will happily accept millions every month.

If you mean an ISA, though, there is a limit. I never need to worry about exceeding it so I'm not sure of the figure- just under £6000 a year I think
This year the ISA's £5750 I think. That's annual though, not a monthly savings plan.

Assuming you need to start buying them soon you'll need to make sure you can access sufficient money when you need it, and some savings plans may not allow that
