Where Does The Water Go

Okay, so I have a leaky tap.

I've had a little man round, and he's coming back to fix it this week.

But ...

The water kind of pools on the worktop ...

You try to shape your hand like one of those car squeeky things, and squish it into the sink.

Then the bit around the base of the tap sort of disappears.

Does it ...

... evaporate?

... sneaking run into the sink?

... go down the back of the work surface?

... or (bit worryingly), dribble into the flat downstairs?

Should I avoid my downstairs neighbours for a few days?

So I will get the water back ???
it's falling on my garden now, if you want to come and pick it up
I'm sure if it was going into the flat downstairs they'd have let you know (unless they've drowned).
I sort of thought that dribbling on your neighbours was "NFB" anyway ...
how's the cupboard under the sink? is it still dry inside? perhaps the water is pooling in there.
Question Author
Nothing under the sink. Maybe it's down the backof the cupboard lining.

What is NFB?
is it possible to pull the kick board out and check? that's where our leak went.
Question Author
Kick board? Is that the bit at the bottom?

Why is it called that? I'd be miffed if someone kicked mine.
Normal For Brighton ... :+)
in theory, if there was some way for it to dribble downstairs it would have been doing that already, before you wiped it into the sink. More likely, by wiping it you briefly created a llittle channel into the sink and the rest of it followed.
Is a kick board a skirting board?
Sandy, no it's not.
board under kitchen units is normally know as a kick board. they aare usually fastened by large clips to the legs of the kitchen units. if you are careful they can be pulled off without damaging them. what sort of flooring do you have in your kitchen?

Flooring? I don't know. They're like big square tiles. Stone, or something?
Question Author
Bit like that, jno.

But without the blonde hair or the dodgy bed spread.
[i] dodgy? I have an eiderdown just like that :-( [i]
lol at jno

is it possible to turn your stop cock off? this would stop the flow of water. you would have to turn it on temporarily to flush the toilet or have a shower but at least it would stop water flowing all the time.
