Where on earth is the "issue number" located on a Switch card? I'm not getting confused with the "security number" which is the 3 diget number on the signature strip.. Apparently its no more than 2 digets long. I'm just trying to book cinema tickets and the website is giving me no indication as to where this issue number can be located on the card.. And i've tried logical ones such as 1, 2, 01 and 02 (this being the 2nd switch card i've had from my bank)
Any help appreciated.

If your switch card doesn't have an issue number on it them ignore that box on the website, should be no problem.
only some switch cards have issue numbers on them. I'm sure HSBC cards do, but some don't! the valid from date is usually treated same as issue number. But as spudqueen says, you can usually ignore the box on websites if your card doesnt have an issue number
My bank got so sick of putting issue numbers on my cards (as I kept having my wallet pinched or losing my handbag) that I now have switch cards without the number on.  As the others said - it shouldn't be necessary.  Guessing won't help though - if there isn't one - leave it blank! Happy shopping! :-)
Some internet payment pages can't cope with a Switch payment with no issue number, presumably the older ones. I have struggled with this in the past too, and usually end up using a credit card instead.

Ta everyone..
The website isnt allowing me to just leave the box blank so i'll find another way around.

Much appreciated.

Try just entering 0 or 1.  on my switch card it is just a single digit 0 between the card number and the expiry date along the very bottom on the main side of the card
