i am working in holland for selective manpower services, 3 weeks now and am due to go offshore with a rig to denmark on 24th (weather permitting) then i will be given a contract, loads of guys now arent evevn getting paid and they have vbeen with this company on this same job for 6 weeks. ive no way of checking my bank balance out here in holland, no internet banking set up. if the company starts giving me he runaround what can i do about it ? there is a lot of discontent in the company and moral is low. i am just hoping and staying on to get some expirience off shore for a few months then i will jack it and get a better job, some guys are getting paid albeit late and short, seems like its one big swindle or just plain stupid people in wages dept , i just dont know . apparently we get paid from the companies head office in dubai.

thanks

sms-gl,com or sms b.v holland . amstel. if anyone wants to google them.
Are you supposed to be paid weekly or monthly?

i am supposed to be paid fortnightly, lots of guys on the rig ( even in senior positions like engineers , motormen ) have not been paid either in 4 weeks, lots of guys have been paid although paid short of what they were supposed to get.

im panicking now as i need paid and want to stay as i need to gain offshore expirience for my c.v but if this comntinues i will be left with no option other than to jack it and move on.
So you won't know yet then whether you got paid for that day when you didn't turn up because your driver didn't pick you up.

I understand you are not saying they haven't paid you- you just have no way of checking. The only way to find out for certain is to contact your bank or check your balance at a cash machine in Holland.
Phone your bank and ask them if any deposits have been made, they may not tell you an exact amount but should tell you if anything has gone in.

thanks guys but A.T.M in holland wont give me balance even though i got a visa debit , im not registered for internet banking ( must do it when i get home to uk ) will bank give me details over phone if i call my home branch ? i think not but i dont know.
I think a call to your home branch will actually go to a call centre miles (maybe thousands of miles) away from your local branch., I doubt they will give you any info if you haven't set up securty questions and answers for telephone banking. Is there anyone at home who can open your bank statements?
On your newest post just now (the 'missing your daughter' one) you say you've been away just two weeks. If that's the case then it's unlikely you will have received your first fortnightly pay yet.
My bank will tell me if any money has gone in, they will not tell me who from and how much though without going through the full security procedure with passwords etc.
I see from your 'missing your daughter' thread that you are going home for a short break in a day or so, so you should have chance to check up on thing and maybe set up internet banking access. Some banks also let you have a facility to check your balance via your mobile
While you've got access to a PC, why don't you set the wheels in motion about setting up your online banking facility you don't have to wait until you get back to the UK. In fact I would have done this before I set off for the new job abroad!
seems a bit iffy goldenballs!.......your choice really, either take a chance on getting paid, or jack it in now, and look for other work that is more stable!.......
