More woe on the High Street as Thorntons announce Store closures over the next 3 Years.
Job losses again, where is it all going to end.

I would imagine keeping all the retail stores open must cost a fortune, people are not buying extravagant stuff anymore I suppose..sad yep

Afternoon Red - Choccy will neve go out of fashion in my house - my favourites are Giant Cadbury Buttons and Galaxy.

I also don't like Thorntons, Joy - they are too sickly.

Maybe they are overpriced but they do make nice Chocs gingejbee !

They are closing many High Street stores...........but look set to open about an equal number in the 'edge-of-town' multi-store sites...........

They are closing stores THEY own but hoping to convert the stores into frachises that people run on their behalf.

So it is just a change in company direction, and many of the stores may stay open (worker buy out?).

Thorntons chocolate is vastly overrated and over priced.
They don't even have the variety they used to have.

The Plantation chocolate sold in Lidls at 99p for a large bar is far superior, and acknowledged by the experts to be so.
