Contacting a Tax Office

I need to prove what i earned in the 2004 -2005 finaicial year but i cannot find my p60 from that year so have been told i will need to contact the relevant tax office who will tell me. Is this correct? also, they didnt say which one. I live in cumbria but the company i worked for was in preston and my p60 has preston tax office on it, so do i contact the preston office? What information do i need to give them when i contact them?

You need to contact the tax office that deals with the company you work for.

They'll need your name, address and tax reference

Alternativly you could contact the company you used to work for as they will still have your personnel records, or if you have kept them your month 12 payslip for March 2005 should show your cumalative pay and tax for the year.
