Due to a refund, I now have large sum deposited in my credit card account and can't think how to access this, if I start drawing out cash on an ATM I will pay interest. I don't need to purchase any large items. If I leave it and use it to settle the balance each month, which is not usually much, would I have to notify them to do this or would it be taken automatically?
Give the credit card company a phone call, they should refund the excess to the linked Bank Account they have on record. Surprised they have not done so already under advice, something my credit card always do automatically.
Unsure what "large" and "quite a lot" represents. But when I have a credit amount where I ought not it usually gets spent as time goes by. These days it's only PayPal that's likely to be in unanticipated credit.
I don't know these things but shouldn't they give you interest if you are in the black? Not much I am sure but .005% is better than a kick in the teeth lol
Mind you if it is a large amount it would probably be better off in an account that pays better interest.
why should they give people interest? It's not a bank account, but a "loan" account. I am also surprised they havent given it back to you or made arrangements to do so (it's not good business for them for you to be in the black.) just ring them and get it refunded
ps if the amount is more than you normally put on your card monthly there wont be any monthly payments to make - it'll just reduce the amount you are in the black
