If you unexpectedly had 25K coming your way in the next few weeks, what would you do with it? New car, though current one fine; toy boy; under the mattress; AB Relief Fund?
Any suggestions welcome.

I`d buy a couple of Rolex watches (or one limited editiion one), put them away untouched in a drawer and take them out several years hence and they would have doubled in value. Then sell them.
i've just thought a small op on something i want fixed but private.
Would consider paying for my poorly leg to be fixed but using for fun would be good so......Treat the two children then buy another sewing machine and some top notch birding equipment.
Any left over is for my secret excitement...to have on top of the excitement I get from my premium bonds.
I would prefer to invest that money and start a new business.
I will use it to help my sick parents and start a small business and save the rest.
It'd have to be a very small business I think, james.

yes factor, instead of spending it to some stuff which you cant benefit or get back the money you waste, why get business? you pay but u also benefit and make money also , after that you can buy stuff you want when you are earning. :)
I agree but what i meant is that by the time you've used money to help your sick parents and put a meaningful amount aside as savings I don't think you'd have much left of your £25000 for setting up a small business.
Are you based in India or Australia, James?
Half to Cancer research, half to Parkinsons uk.

Premium bonds
The Junior Overalls were left some money(30K each) which I invested in premium bonds. They have won something every month - the smallest win was £50.
Reduce the mortgage.
Plus some for ABer's who have fallen on hard times. owdhamer.
You are a very caring person, owdhamer.
Do you still live in Owdham and are you back at home now? You were in a hospital/care home nearby I recall.)

put half of it in savings
Book that holiday to Sicily
get that second Kindle fire we want
get all the stuff on my Amazon wish list
book another holiday
get the porch done and re-do our front drive
think about retiring from work (but doubt will do that)

Endless really, but that's a start ....

Chox.
An inheritance of 30K each? Are you really Lady Overall of Whitby and here in AB masquerading as an ordinary person?
Just now if I had 30K I'd go somewhere warm til the winter was ended.
The most I have ever been left is £3000 and I doubt I'll ever be left anything like £25000. I'm not complaining though as I'm fortunate to be able to leave a lot more than that to my family.
If I did get £25000 I'd probably just put it aside and be a little bit more picky about which temporary jobs I take
No sign of anything permanent yet factor ?.
sandy, I am as poor as a church mouse (being a supermodel does not pay as well as people think). The money was left to my children, not me.
No, tony- but I'm getting work every day (sometimes teaching, sometimes working with individual students, sometimes working with small groups in autistic units). Although the money isn't as good as teaching I enjoy the variety and being able to go home at 3.30 without all the planning, marking, meetings, after school detentions, parents' evenings etc, so I'm carrying on with this for a while.

If I was given £25000 I'd still carry on but I may occasionally turn down those that don't pay as well or that involve a difficult journey
factor has long as your happy what your doing and managing to earn some money then all is well.
