On the subject programme this morning there was a report that two elderly couples had been told by Santander that their bank balances of £25,000 did not exist.
In spite of applying to the Ombudsman and the Financial Services Association, they have been unable to get their money back.
My wife had a problem with Santander some time ago. They insisted that she owed £52.60 on a credit card which she knew had been paid.
She sent them a copy of a zero balance statement but they still refused to believe her.
It took 18 months before they finally agreed that she owed them nothing.

What was the outcome of the team getting inolved ?

The team could do nothing, I'm sorry to say, Bazile.
The FSA had already ruled in Santander favour so there is nothing the program could do.

Santander said they would not reopen the case as the FSA had already ruled.
