How much in tax / charges does an average person earning 25000 a year give to the government?

Including:

Income Tax
NI
Car Tax
VAT
Petrol Tax
Council Tax
Alcohol Duty

And as many more of the little beggars I probably don't even know about.

Thanks.

that would depend on how much you purchase, how much petrol you use, where you live, and how much you drink.

Well give me an example then clever clogs.
According to the Adam Smith Institute, the average person pays the equivalent of their earnings from 1 January to somewhere in early June in taxes annually. So in your example that would equate to about 10500.
