Hi all,
Here's our new thread for August - previous thread is here: http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/Weight-Loss-and-Dieting/Question1557914.html

How is everyone getting on? My partner and I have started going for a walk every Sunday morning, weather permitting - eventually we will work our way up to running!

I'll have to start monitoring it hourly and record the average.
Good morning all, down 2 1/2 pounds. My food plan is working. The foods I was eating were fine but the amounts needed adjusting and I've got more options than I had before.
Dreading checking this morning knowing the post-weekend reading the scales gave me yesterday :-(
Well done xstitcher . Despite having salads most of the week I have stayed the same . Maybe if I had cut out the baked potato and Florida salad I might have lost .
Down a minimal amount since yesterday; up a full 0.8 lbs since last Wednesday. {sigh}
Bad luck you two. When I go down I want everybody else to do the same so we can brag together :- ((
Apart from Wednesday I have gone *UP* every darned day this week, and now the high intake weekend starts. I really don't know why I'm bothering.
Don't loose heart OG. It sounds like for the moment it's matter over mind for you. Enjoy your weekend and hopefully you'll be a long way from your scales, then come back on Monday, ready to dig in again.
Tuesday these days.
Thanks. Not been a good start to the day today, and the ramping up during the "traditional" dropping down part of the week was just beyond.
We've told you loads of time OG to stop weighing yourself daily. Weight fluctuates throughout the day so you're doing yourself no good.

Pick a day, get out of bed, pee, weigh yourself, do not be tempted to weight yourself until the next week. That's the only way you'll see any difference.
That was the advice by the gym I used to use. Guess what...I never lost a 1lb but I did drop a clothes size.
It'd still show up at the end if the week, but with no inkling how or when.
Sorry OG . I like backing you up but ummmm is right.
OG - keep a food diary then. You know when you're preparing food what you're going to put in your gob so either write it down or don't eat it. You seem a bit obsessive with your weighing.

How much do you drink? (I mean fluids, not alcohol)
Been keeping a "diary" for years. It was initially to monitor how I was going throughout the day, but after all this time it's got monotonous, enthusiasm has gone out the window, and I end up adding items and totting up some time after eating stuff. (Even been known to miss the odd thing.) It's been too long making no permanent progress.

I'm unsure how much liquid. I think it tends to vary. Typically two large mugs of coffee in the morning, mug of tea in the afternoon, anywhere between half a pint and two pints of near zero calorie squash late afternoon/evening. Other fluids I get from food.
It's a weird world. Had another high input 3 day weekend away from my home, but this time I actually dropped a bit. It makes no sense. Not enough to get excited about but interesting. Perhaps I'll put it down to the inexplicable delay that often seems to occur between overindulging in food & drink, and the scales spotting it.
Were you more active over the weekend?
'overindulging in food & drink' just might be the key, OG.
No. Same as usual. Some chores done during the day, much time spent on settee surfing the Net or watching TV in the evening.

Input isn't easily controlled when a guest of someone else. Gave up trying on that ages ago.
Good morning all, things are going to plan. I'm down 2.5 pounds. Life is good!
