I'm 53 and have banged weight on during "the change".I've always been slim until now, and I'm desperate to lose a couple of stone so that I can feel more like my old self again. Any ideas?

Sadly it's the same way as at any other time of your life. Eat less, move more. I am not being snotty, am in the same boat.

Mrs B informs me that lots of bedroom exercise is good for you, if your OH is of a similar age you may need to get a toy boy.
The same happened to me, I managed to lose a stone in weight without trying as soon as I was put on HRT for my hot flushes and night sweats. Unfortunately I may have to stop the HRT because of the side effects i'm now having so the weight is likely to go back on :(
Your metabolism is slowing down, so you need to rev it up again. Do not eat less. This is the big problem with diets. I have been reading The Fast Metabolism Diet by Haylie Pomroy. Early indications are promising.
