Hello all,

I heard the other day that fat-free salad dressing is one of the biggest "No No's" you can eat, mainly because of all the extra stuff they put in to replace the fat!

So as we are almost heading into salad season (even if the weather doesn't quite agree yet) how about some low calorie salad dressing recipies or even some interesting salads that might not need dressing?

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Thanks Wendilla. I bet you will have lost a pound by next Wednesday. You're so determined, and you're a brilliant support to everyone on here... so give yourself some of that support :-)

"Dreading" tomorrow. My intake hasn't been so bad really. Sure it is over what it should be, mainly due to weekends, but that has always been the case. However the scales are being pure viscous this week. Today was the first day I went down slightly from a continuous rise every blooming day since the 9th :-(
BACKTALK thank you for your input. Yes works with quite a few but quite a few of our ladies on here have disabilities and some are not able to do excersises. This post has been running my xfactor and myself for 2 years and it is good for ideas from others that we can try. We try to suppor t one another. We don't class it as a diet as such but try and keep to healthy eating.
Good Morning All,

I am paying for my sins of yesterday and have gone to the naughty corner. I hope the rest of you do much better than I have......my head is hung in shame!!
Dear dear Xstitcher at least you know where you have gone wrong. I have actually moved away from staying the same so that's a start, I will stock up on my veg and salad on Friday. Onwards and Downwards.
The scales are claiming I've gone up 3⅛ lbs over the week. It is clearly utter nonsense. I really don't know what they are playing at. I shall analyse the week when I have the time, but this has got way beyond a joke.
Ok, not so good this week, just a loss of a few ounces but the Big Macs and the cheesecake didnt help, im back on course again. I am of course very happy that it still actually going downwards still, as I know it is far more difficult for others to lose.

Onwards and Downwards!!!!!!
For anybody with a smart phone, I use an Android app for monitoring my weight, it is really easy to use and gives a really easy to use display the app is called "Weight Chart".
OG I think your scales are having a wobbley.
Ratter you did ever so well for a start but you are determined you will get there. I lost my stone when I first started but I have been playing around with this one and now I can't blame the weather. Like me you know what to do . Good luck for next week.
I know I will get there, I the closer I get to me target weight the harder the weight is to shift.

This is my recent chart showing my weight coin up and down over the last few days

Have you thought of maybe just doing your chart for a week at a time instead of day to day Ratter?
xstitcher, I like the day to day weighing, it keeps me motivated, I know some people suggest only weighing once a week but I find it better to weigh daily, I think its a personal thing, seeing the peaks drive me and seeing the troughs convince me i'm doing something right lol. and as long as that red line keeps going down hill i'm happy :-)
At last that last stubborn pound has dropped and I can say I've lost a stone :)

Re weighing - are you doing it at the same time of day? I find I'm usually at my lightest in the morning before breakfast. Also try and have your scales in the same place. I often weigh myself on different days, but my official day is Tuesday morning. Wednesday is usually my lightest day though, so if the loss disappears at that point, I know to redouble my efforts.
I'm sure you have a point wend. If I don't get 2 readings identical at first, I try again and again until I get 3 consecutive identical ones, or I give up for the day. But that said I don't believe the consistent rise day after day this week can just be put down to the scales. But I have to blame something !

I've had a quick look at my average intake for the week and as expected I didn't hit the goal; but that has always been the case. 5 days a week I am around where I should be even if I'm a bit over much more often than a bit under, and then the weekend, when I don't really have the same level of control, it goes a little haywire. That hasn't changed.

Bit if a downer really, it seems I have to go on a harsh regime of denial to drop further. I don't recall this sort of issue last time I lost weight.
I've just noticed I've got best answer, thanks Ab Editor. I knew Wendilla would lose something this week. Well done Wendilla! I've gone up half a pound. I've been eating biscuits and chocolate, but I thought I was compensating for it by having smaller evening meals, but apparently that doesn't work. Well done also to Ratter and Taichi. Never mind Xstitcher and Old Geezer, good luck for next week. OG you seem to monitor your intake really well and try so hard, so maybe it's not your fault that you're not losing. You could ask your doctor. I remember I mentioned underactive thyroid to you before, that is what I have, but you said you definitely didn't have that one. Before I was put on the thyroxine tablets I was putting on weight because of the condition.
Thanks. I'm so aware that of late all I seem to do here is moan. But it's how I'm feeling. I'm sure it has to come together soon. I think I'll pass on the doc visit though.
OG, it's ok to moan. I know there are other medical conditions that make you put on weight, but I don't know what they are. It's just that you try so hard, and I didn't want you to feel bad. Good luck for next weigh-in.
Hi Taich well done .And next week you hope to see that needle go under the stone mark.

Marijn biscuits are my downfall but I think I may have my good fairy head on instead of the devil. I am going Asda this afternoon and I will bye pass the biscuit aisle. I am not rewarding myself yet with a choc. from the unopened box. I was trying to remember what your name was before you changed it. As I know you have been with us quite a while.
You must do what is right for you Ratter....it was just an idea but by just doing that means that you have the right end of the stick. I hope both you and OG get better results next week. You both seem to be feeling so low and we can't have that.
Well that 4lb loss last week didn't last long as this week I have put 4lb on! Not quite sure how I managed that as have been good but hopefully it will sort itself out if I carry on plodding. Getting used to these ups and downs now and just as long as the downs outweigh the ups I'll get there...
Jan, could that possibly be an excess of water in your body? Hubby has had problems with that and after taking his "water removal" pills his weight went down remarkably.
