Hello I am in a bit of a situation really. My partner and I are going to have a baby soon yet some things dont really make sense to me. OK here goes we were watching the local news the other day and there were some scenes of young animal cruelty on and he came out with the comment like 'he would be less upset had it been a human baby'. I was initially taken a back by this and thought to myself oh well he just must really like animals I guess. Then we ordered a chinese and he ordered beef and pork. I remembered what his comment was and just though what a hypocrite!

He loves animals more than human babies yet he eats animals!

I really am starting to think he is a complete waste of space and will be a terrible father. What should I do?

was this a planned pregnancy?
Question Author
Yes it was sara3
I know a few people like that. My best mate never coos over a baby, but put a dog in front of her and she goes all mushy. Same with animal and child cruelty.

However, as soon as he sees his own baby I am sure he or she will become the most important thing in the world to him. You really can't judge how his parenting skills will be on this, wait and see and stop panicking for now.
Question Author
But do you agree he does sound like a man of no substance and empty statements?
he may be immature, he may change when the baby is born
Question Author
So you agree cazzz he sounds immature and without backbone?
don't do anything drastic before the baby arrives. most new parents go through many emotional changes and he may yet be an ideal father :o)
he may change, I would wait and see personally, people's viewpoints can change remarkable over a period of time
Question Author
Well I wasnt thinking anything drastic. I guess I am just blowing off air for bieng with such a loser.
I wouldnt call him a loser for one statement. maybe you are just on a downer today.
assuming this isn't just one of those wind-up greenie questions, or that your hormones are not running riot.. there is obviously not much love lost, on your part at least.

all you've done is call him names and want us to back you.
Question Author
what is a greenie question?
certainly doesn't sound like you know him very well if you say" he must just love animals". You'd surely know that if it's a long-term relationship with someone you're having a baby with? If you're thinking he's a loser now what will you be like when you have the stresses of a baby to care for and what will she/he think when you're calling their father a loser?
Question Author
Well he is a loser in my eyes at the moment! He spent 144 pounds on flowers for me on valentines day. We need money for the baby. He is so stupid. I am really getting annoyed by him.
gravy!
Question Author
Sorry recrx what does that mean? Have I missed something?
missing something? probably
I know creep, why dont you dump him, yes he is a loser.
Question Author
I am really lost here now.
FFS, it's blindingly obvious it's gravy.

Idiot, do you seriously have nothing better to do with your time?
