My boyfriend is away at the moment and I won't be spending valentines day with him. I don't know whether to send him something really romantic (but I don't want him to get upset about being away) or something to cheer him up??? Either way I want to let him know how much he means to me... Any ideas of what I could get him?

Thanks!

What do you think?
Hiya caj1, I'm an ex soldier, I've been away from home and loved ones on many occasions, anniversaries etc. Just let him know you love and miss him lots. try to think of something to make him laugh, believe me , it really is the best medicine. Why not send him two cards, one romantic and one funny. Good luck.

Hi waterboatman, thanks. Its good to have the opinion of someone who's been there and done it! Any ideas for what I could send in parcels? I'm kind of running out of ideas. Did you find there was anything you missed or needed?
Hi caj, things like toiletries, books, writing pad and envelopes (not always easily avialable) don't send things like chocolate, it melts! or anything easily broken, Perhaps acopy of your local paper, I always liked to get that, but the most important thing is your letters and news from home

Sounds like I'm on the right track, he likes getting the local newspapers too! Thanks for your help, its much appreciated :o)
why not send him something naughty to remind him of you, like some underwear with a little note to keep you in his mind. And of course a few practicle things like toiletries to just say that you are thinking of him

I have to write on a label at the post office for customs disclosing what is in it lol! Good idea though
This may sound a bit sleazy but have you thought about sending him a pair of your sexy underwear? That wont upset him and its quite a cheeky thing to do :)
oh sorry gbrad I didnt read yours first.
Hi caj,
Sending him underwaer is not a good idea. If you could be sure he has privacy then maybe. I can asue you he will not have much privacy at all...if any. knowing soldiers as I do he would be in for a lot of ribbing. However, a little something personal of yours, that he will know is yours, that he can keep in his pocket. he will like that.
good luck caj.

Thanks again waterboatman. I know from what he told me he definitly doesn't have much privacy! I think a sheet hung between the beds is the height of it! I'll give the underwear sending a miss and think up something nice to send him from me
Why don't you send him something he likes? My boyfriend won't be spending valentine's day with me either so i tried to think of something nice to send him. Since he is a BIG chocolate lover I thought of sending him some nice truffles to cheer him up and a friend recommended me this website:
http://www.serenatachocolates.com/Truffles that has worked for her in the past. Hope this works for you too!
