Is it normal for a man to go on a lads only night our when in a relationship? My boyfriend thinks I'm out of order for not wanting him to go on a night out with his male friends without me - but i cant think of any reason why a man would want to go on a lads only night out unless he wanted to pull, especially when all his mates are single. He is 22 and we've been together a year. does anyone else think this is acceptable in a relationship?

is that what you and your single friends would go out for? just to pull?

Of course it is acceptable for him to see his friends without you, youre not glued to each other.

I think that this is a trust matter and you dont believe that he can enjoy time with his friends without the need to chat up other women.
not a good idea to pry a man away from his mates, and I imagine you wouldn't want him doing the same to you either. It's perfectly possible to have mates as well as a bf or gf, even if they don't mix. Nights out are more likely to involve drinking than pulling... or do you have some grounds for supposing they aren't? If you do have suspicions (and you might if he's still hanging around with singles), you should try to discuss them with him.
Is this post a joke??!!

So a bloke having a few pints down the pub, watching the footy, talking about cars etc etc is out of order??? ****** me how about women out a girls night out?? They never try and pull or try to get you to buy them drinks do they lol.

Just go to the doctors and get joined at the hip!

you are out of order, I have a girls night every Tuesday and thats not to pull, and Id be happy if he went on a lads night out. Your questions just shows you dont trust him. He wants a night with his mates not you this doesnt mean he doesnt want you out just it can get a bit tedious seeing the same person everyday. If you want a future with him youve got to realise youre gonna be with him for life so you should both get out when you can.
Of course it is acceptable for him to want a lads night out. You say you have been going out with him for a year so as you are asking this question I can only presume that this is the first time it has happened, if so, he deserves a night out with his mates.
I think you and your bf will not be together long if you don't let him go out with his friends. Not that he needs your permission.

Can you think of any reason you may want to go out with your girl friends without your bf?

I think you have insecurities that need to be dealt with.
you are in serious danger of pushing this guy away altogether everyone needs time apart every now and then he will only resent you if you continue to come between him and his mates.
Have you got to a point that you've dropped your mates for him so you dont have any to have a girly night with?
This is how blokes start lying if you dont let him do what he likes next time hell just lie to you so he can go out
I encourage my bloke to go on lads night at least two or three times a month. I don't want him to lose his mates! He gets asked most weekends and he would never need my permission to go! But sometimes he does prefer a quiet night with me and on the odd occasion I've gone along (but been bored stiff by the lad talk lol).

I go on plenty of girlie nights without my bloke and would not be impressed if he tried to stop me.

We spend most of our nights together but I think its important to make time for your friends and not ditch them when you fall in love.

I think you are being unreasonable and need to lighten up!
dont see the problem with him goin out with his mates? cant add anymore than has already been said above?
but 4getmenot can i come out with you next Tuesday? please? ; )
Its very normal. Cracking post!
i think your right,i would never let curlyperm out with her mates, she cant be trusted and shes a bit of a stalker.
Norman, i am not telling you again!!!!!!!!!!! Motoring! NOW!
Yep feel free :-)
im telling you that curlyperm is a stalker,im going to report her to the editor.
hehehehehehe and say what?? 'Please Miss, Curleyperms following me' Go stand in the corner Norman, and face the wall!!!!
Absolutely normal without a doubt.

Is it normal for women to have a girls night out, ladies day at ascot, going to bingo etc etc etc, of course it is, even in relationships you need your own space to chill out etc, smother someone and the chances are your relationship will fail, if you believe that men are going out ''just to pull'' you really do have a trust issue problem
