He was a rogue. Was caught out. And probably is still a rogue.
Odious man.
But Tora, where there is claim there is a blame.

This is the culture the right-on liberals have bought this country too. It is always someone else's fault.

Perhaps we should club together to buy him a mirror so he can see the culprit, then we can pass it around the liberals on this site !
I imagine he thinks that having served a few days in what is in effect a hostelling holiday the slate and everyboy's memory has been wiped clean and he can start afresh.
Sadly though he's still seen as a liar, a cheat and a bully who got caught.
Had he been an honest and law abiding citizen he'd never have seen the inside of a cell
Of course he'll never believe that as he, his ex and their friends are in collective denial as to any serious wrongdoing.
Listened to him this morning on the BBC

You could see the mindset

Said he regretted *what happened*

Obviously couldn't bring himself to say he regretted *what he did*

Obviously looking for a new career and is trying to follow Johnathon Aitkin
So it was someone else's fault that he tried to bully his Mrs Into taking his points was it

There ought to be a law that people posting links should read them themselves. If you did you might have trouble substantiating the above claim, which you have just made up.

When the case was being tried jno, all that came out, he bullied his wife into taking the points and she dobbed him(and herself as it turned out) in because an illicit affair. It was all over the news surprised you missed it. So did you have a different account of this case on your planet?
"Huhne........, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that he took responsibility for his mistakes and was contrite for doing things which were "clearly wrong"."

You do appear to have made it up, 3t's
Well I recall that was her claim Tora

But I don't think you have to be on a different planet to doubt the word of someone convicted for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice
Question Author
what Have I made up?
"Former MP Chris Huhne, who was jailed for lying about a driving offence, has claimed the newspaper investigation that led to his downfall was "payback" for his stance towards Rupert Murdoch." -- that kind of looks like he's blaming news international to me.

that wasn't in today's news, TTT, nor does it appear anywhere in the story you linked to.

Curiously, you have nothing to say about the actual story - the claim that the Murdoch press were staging a vendetta - whcih seems plausible to me.
Question Author
what are you trying to spin jno? yes the original case was not entirely regurgitated in this link but that does not make it irrelevant, does it?

Ah I see, the nasty Murdoch empire are the bad guys here! Forgive me for missing the "right on" boogey man!
Whinging git :-)
I think you're right. It was his fault and her fault, which is why they both were found guilty.
well, you've heard plenty of stories about the Murdoch papers over the last couple of years (unless you've actually been reading them, in which case you haven't). Hacking of phones, corruption of public officials - ring any bells?

And you think they're good guys? Well, well.

Freddie Starr really did eat a hamster, you know.
He wasn't blaming anyone else for his actions per se, merely blaming the Murdoch press for having an agenda in revealing the story. That is a different claim entirely.

He's still a moron and politics is well rid of him. I hope it's well rid of him, anyway.
Question Author
news international and their activities are not relevant here. Huhne, by his actions alone is responsible for what happenned.
Yes, but as I said above, who is he blaming then if not himself ?
They're very relevant, given that this is precisely what the article you are linking to is talking about. I don't want to defend Chris Huhne particularly, because he's guilty of a whole lot of stuff I take a dim view of. But he's not quite guilty, yet, of blaming the media, or anyone else, for forcing Vicky Pryce to take his speeding points. Except, possibly, blaming Vicky Pryce herself.

As it happens I don't think it matters much if there was an agenda behind revealing the story of his crimes, because they should have been dealt with some time ago and to some extent he was lucky to have evaded justice for as long as he did.
He blames himself for getting his then wife to take the points. He blames the News of the world for 'grooming' (his words) his wife and then breaking the story.
