I think if two people love each other then they shoud be able to commit and celebrate those feelings how they like.
wouldn't a more honest opening post have been

I think gay relationships are sick and revolting let alone accepting marriage between gay people - do you agree?
Sara, Cries of offence are intended predominately to shut other people up. Other people are entitled to their opinions so don’t be ‘offended’ – argue the OP’s failure of logic.

Nay35, do you love your partner more than a homosexual loves his/hers?
My preference is that she shuts up, Naomi ;0)

Someone with such views will never take a rational person's viewpoint.
I think everyone is entitled to their own view on this sort of issue.

Most of us disagree with Nay, but I dont think we should abuse him for his view.

I don't think many gays will be hurt or upset by Nay's views. I think most gays would simply think ... We don't give a fk what you think.

So, anyway, Nay ... you have a valid opinion, but I disagree with it. I think the only argument against gay "marriage" is the suggestion that marriage is an exclusively religious institution, to encourage the communion and procreation between a man and a woman. However, for those of us who think that institutionalised religion is mostly a lot of poo, that argument doesn't really stack up.
Her, JJ
Oh Nay....I do feel for you. You must be so unhappy to have so much bitterness in your heart.
I'm not native to this country and I'm blessed with a good few gay relatives. My life would be poorer without them but we wouldn't tick any of your boxes would we?
Ha ha! Yes, I expect it is .... but better to beat him with a rational argument. ;o)
Legislation is happening at an unprecedented speed, mostly to gain votes without the many implications being properly considered. Civil partnerships seemed to be an adequate arrangement.
^^ That was to Sara.
Civil partnerships? Some people want to celebrate their love, not just complete a legal procedure
Oh yes, sorry MT ... her
No their not Khandro - because you are restricting civil partnerships to one of societies groups.

Pretty much like saying you may ride on the bus full of black people but you cannot ride that bus because it is only for whites.
"You are now joined together in an adequate arrangement" lacks something though.
LOL gness x

I have the right to have my own opinions for now anyway. Soon they will be taking that away from us too.
i feel sorry for you
That may be true!

People used to get in trouble for what they DID.

Now, increasingly, people are castigated for merely giving an indication of what they THINK.

1984? The Thought Police?

And we thought it would never happen!
of course you are entitled to your own opinion, but please don't be offended if some people don't share your views on life.
I am not in favour of gay marriage, although I have no problem at all with civil partnerships. I object to being labelled a bigot though, I'm the least bigoted person you are ever likely to meet.
