People who spell my name wrong.

My first name has two possible spellings so that could be accepted and my surname is a litte odd so that too could be expected BUT NOT when you have my full name in at least two places on an e-mail and when you reply to me you still get it wrong.

I find it a little rude actually. Humph!

There we go, got that off my chest now.

OK Evie Babe, keep yer hair on lass!! LOL
Seriously though it bugs the sh!t out of me too when they make my name something it ain't
People spell and prounounce my name wrong all the time, and it's a very simple name! Doesn't really bother me though, my own mother calls me by my aunts name most of the time (no, she's not senile, just daft)....

Glad you agree Ternac.

;) see what I did there. I've just made my own sides split.
my name is always spelt wrong, i dont bother to correct it anymore, its like talking to a goldfish
I have that problem as well believe it or not.. Even on here I spoke with someone throughout a whole thread and every time they typed my name it came out wrong! Erni, Eirn, Ernie, Eir n..... I swear they were just doing it to wind me up!

I get all sorts of variations of my surname on post China. Some of them are quite amusing.

And when I'm on the phone to someone and have to tell them my name and then the name of the company I work for, I sigh quietly and get ready for the conversation to last 20 minutes longer than it needs to.
Maybe that's the answer, to throw it back at them by spelling or calling them by a wrong name! One place I worked we had two girls called Margaret, When I arrived the boss just called me Margaret as well. No my name isn't Margaret!!!
I totally agree Evian - people really annoy me when I send a letter signed Ann and they reply to me and address me as Anne!
I always have to spell out my surname. I'm also amazed by the amount of people who can't pronounce it.
I get called Sarah all the time...
Yep - has bugged me all my life.

I even had someone fail to reply to a crucial email the other day - they managed to add an extra letter into my surname & then re-typed my email address to match ..... then blamed me for not receiving the message .... tw!ts
It's easy to tell someone how to spell my surname.. that sounds weird but if you new what it was it wouldn't be lol

How many variations of Erin could there be? Odd.

It's just common courtesy I feel to make sure you get someones name right, especially when it's already there right in front of your eyes.

I might just start calling everyone sugar lump. At least it's affectionate.
Question Author
Actually, I don't think Sugar lump is affectionate at all. I think I need to go to bed.
Yes mine too erin - its a pity we can't type our actual surname on here so you would see how I get people to remember it!
I get annoyed when threads are pulled. Makes me think the whole thing's unravelling.
Three possible spellings of my surname, even when I tell people the correct spelling they still get it wrong.
Eryn, Errin, Erryn, Erynn.. trust me. It came from Eireann, the poetic name for Ireland seemingly.
