If women aren't the weaker sex why are we more lenient on them being sexual predators then men?

Recently I have had my eyes opened to the term 'Cougar' which basically is an older woman on the prowl for 'Young meat'. I've noticed that when an older woman goes for a younger man even if she's a man eater then many are still ok with it as we have that 'let the lad have fun and learn a thing or two' attitude but if this is reversed and it is a much older man or men on the prowl for young girls then our mood changes completely from joviality to worry and disgust invoking our protective mode to rear it's head usually. Why is this?

'young meat' - what a horrid expression, whether referring to a male or a female.

As to why it is - maybe because although sex be the priority, females are more likely to involve emotions and feelings. Men 'panthers' generally just want the sex.

yes you are correct, it does seem odd, no idea why we somehow find it more acceptable.

I guess it's the same way that an old guy having a child is seen as a stud, yet people frown on an 82 year old woman doing the same. Just people's attitudes.

Sallabananas the 'young meat' is a common term used by some older women to describe young men which I have seen with my own eyes. If a man said the same phrase I bet most of us would be thinking of phoning the police!

It is a good question. I think a young woman is considered not to want to be involved sexually, perhaps a throwback to the time of no contraception and the risk of pregnancy was high; and so is seen as a victim of unrequested attention. Whilst a young man is considered to want and actively seek out such attention and is thus seen as lucky to have been offered the opportunity. I know there were a fair few older woman I'd have liked the attention of when I was a teenager. No such luck though. I don't think it has anything to do with which gender tends to have the larger muscles and is thus stronger.

When exactly did dating really younger males or females become more 'Fashionable' and are moods static or changing regarding the subject?

The simple and base answer to this IMO is this: women are less frequently suspected of or hammered for sexual offenses because they do not possess a penetrative member.

VERY interesting points Answerprancer even though women involved in sexual offences seem to be on the rise but the penetrative member is a very valid one due to the psychological perceptions of the male member and what it represents.

I hesitate to disagree with AP but women DO have a very prominent penetrative member. It's called a nose, and they seem to be able to stick it everywhere.
(Just a feeble sexist joke, before the Valkyries start getting on their high horses) :-)

I'm just wondering that maybe it depends on the men pinkilady as I know of the stereotypical older playboy he has kids from a previous marriage and dresses young nice suits and jewelry and goes to the sunbed who regularly goes to the gym and on booze holidays with his younger friends who are always goading him on to get younger girls for sex and is 'The man',now lets change the perception and have a man the same age who is a recluse has no friends doesn't look after himself or bother with his appearance but is lonely and looking for love. Which one is the more acceptable and which one is looked at like a weirdo? We both know. Mike11111 that really made me smile.

Pinkilady and I suppose we could also have the female counterpart which is the one that dresses sexily is in touch with herself on a personal level and looks and smells good and goes out and has a wild time with her younger friends as well as knowing exactly what she wants as opposed to the dumpy bespectacled shy loner on the internet looking for young love. Once again maybe it boils down to our deeply ingrained way of thought.
