to continue on from the friend i mentioned on the other thread

thanks, for your reply. They have talked of MS up until this point and her being in a wheelchair within 2 years :(

It seems as if it caused her last child to have all sorts of problems with absorbing proteins etc, and this baby shes is pregnant with is very poorly, shes on some pretty strong pain relief and obviously theres a lot of uncertainty around it. Consultants say she has to take it, midwives just tell her to stop taking it.

I just cant beleive that its taken 6 years and suddenly a new GP has spotted it and is now trying to get her seen to very fast indeed.

she deteriorated so much in last year, struggles to walk, shakes, is forgetful, collapses a lot etc. Im sorry worried for her and cant give her any advice other than to put her faith in the doctors now that they have made a diagnosis. :(

Well, it might be MS, but SCDC is a well known complication of P.A and as I have said before, it may be completely reversible. She needs the opinion of a Neurologist.

I can´t understand why repeated blood tests didnt show the PA.........it is not difficult.

Interesting.....keep me informed.

i will, sqad. MS was what they were saying but she didnt want a lumbar puncture which is what they were saying she needed.
Bearing in mind she has had 2 children so numerous blood tests for iron levels in that time too. Plus even on iron supplements she was only at levels of 3, i just cant get my head around it.
she has also been pretty much unable to eat anything substantial in the last 4 years since having extreme morning sickness, her stomach wont keep anything down. she pretty much got through last pregnancy on coffee and toast. even between pregnancies she can barely get her food intake up. I dont know how she keeps going tbh, but she does.
redcrx....I hope that is is SCDC.
