strain, sprain, ill fitting boots, sitting awkwardly. Easier if you say what you've done?
muscle or joint - if joint, are you on a statin?
Question Author
whats statin? seems to be the bones really, not muscular

he hasnt done anything really...no strains or boots etc...just happens randomly , more an more often
Statin - prescribed to lower cholesterol.
how old is the patient
Are you on your feet most of the day? This could also be a reason for painful ankle.
"Occasional?"....every day? every week?....every month?

How long does the pain last for and how severe is it e.g do you need to take tablets for the pain?

Does you ankle swell?

Doesn´t sound a big deal...............but will answer again when you have supplied the above information.

hiya, no hes 27,

its happens maybe once every one or 2 weeks...its an achey pain, not agony...he just rubs for a while and lies down...sometimes takes paracetamol

doesnt stop him walking or anything, its just a bit annoying

it happened last night an he hadnt been at work...so hadnt done much particularly. just visit a mate, go tthe shop, hanging about watching tv etc

when he does work hes a tiler so he can sit or stand depending on the layout of the room..but not excessivley standing i dont think.
Thanks joko.......nothing sinister comes to mind, so just monitor the situation an to take Ibuprofen 600mgms when needed.

ok cool, thanks
Wrap the ankle in an elastic support sock (sports shops) to relieve pain.

It could be strained achilles or hairline fracture; either way the support will help healing.
