Actually - further to Milli's fear of deep water, one thing that freaks the bejayzuz out of me is boating over clear deep water where you can see dark rocky inlets and caves (under the water).
That's part of what I don't like AP. And the fact that in the sea, you are this miniscule, insignificant thing with that amount of space beneath and around you.
my mates got a banana phobia too!!!! he is literally scared when ones in sight even on the tv!!!! took us ages to make sure he wasnt having us on! mines just the norm big spiders, snakes and big creepy crawlies are a no no!!!
Ok, maybe one tiny phobia: I have a fear of people having "phobias".
ie. sticking silly labels on neurotic things from their pasts that they haven't dealt with ;-
AP....unless you have ever experienced a panic attack or a phobic reaction to anything-then you have no right to be critical about something you know nothing about. Those of us who have 'dealt with it' have a far better understanding of it than we would ever wish for.
grrrrr -I hate with a passion flippant answers like that. I lost my home job health all because I had a meltdown and even after 13yrs i still struggle to lead a normal life.O tell ya -I just so wouldnt ever diss anyone for having an illlness.
Its akin to saying -diabetes/heart disease (for example) -pah-I hate people who label themselves and say theyve had to alter their lives -its easy to overcome it (much smugness -well that smug look will one of those days be wiped off your face -it has to happen)
Like sallas take -I have varying degrees -the tall building and wanting to throw myself off them just because I could is scary.I like the varying degrees of phobias/fear/etc
Yip -its as I said before-debilitating.Just when you are feeling fine-confident -nonchalant-carefree -woomph-take that and back to square one !
Need to have a strong character to live with them-just as well I do !!
I've worked at the top of pit headstocks, up lighting pylons and in pit shafts a 1000yd deep and it's never bothered me but I can't get more then 3-4 rungs up a ladder I freeze. I don't know why there's just something about ladders that doesn't feel right to me
Pastafreak and Driss - you've got me all wrong: I know very well what it is like to experince panic attacks and fear, I've been around panicky/phobic people all me life and done more than my fair share of being supportive.
I thought it seemed obvious that my post was a little tongue in cheek, hence the little wink at the end.
