Would he have said that the recession we're in wasn't so bad without having sounded out some colleagues? Is that really their view? Has the Tory mask slipped or are we truly all in it together?

Dinner...a few drinks......and he makes a stupid remark, although with interest rates low, some mortgages are cheaper than they have been for years, so from that point of view, some people are better off.

How bad is the recession and will we suffer a period of austerity.........just wait until VAT comes in, the cuts are announced and the next budget.......it will be bad.
Short answer don't know, but a man who has always had money and never had to worry about it would have great difficulty relating to those who don't.

If you look at the top line, in a way, hes correct. However the fact that the bottom has dropped out of the property market or you may no longer have a job to pay that "cheap" mortgage seems to have escped him.
