Can you drink alcohol on these ??

Recently been put on Citalopram 20mg once a day & Pronalol 10mg 2 x 3 tabs per day.

Can i drink alcohol on these?? I don't mean excessive amounts btw just the odd glass of wine or can

There's a leaflet in the box with the medication, looby - that will tell you.

Thanks but managed to bin the dam leaflets before reading them as store the actual tablets in a plastic box well away from my little boy

Ah - I'm always careful to keep the leaflets these days, and the original packaging - when we travel abroad I always take meds in their original boxes in case of query as to why they are in my handbag. Lesson learned before from taking vitamins and meds in a dose-per-day box, customs queried what they were.

agree with squad's guidance. most meds will say not to drink, but only usually to cover their @rse in case someone sues. essentially, alcohol may enhance some of the effects of your pills (esp. the propranolol) so the best way to test is to have the odd one/two and see how you feel - and be responsible enough to say when! x

i AM ON CITALOPRAM AND HAVE BEEN FOR OVER TWO YEARS AND i DRINK ALCOHOL.

You can drink alcohol in moderation with these drugs, as squad says, but if you want them to work effectively it would be better if you didn't.

ive been on citalopram for about 12 months, I drink wine at weekends and have had no problems at all.
