For the past few days now i have had a single lump under each armpit, they are not painful but they are sore to the touch. making a doctors appointment is nigh on impossible at the moment so i thought I would throw it open to the wise sages of answerbank. Any ideas what these lumps could be???

I was wondering if they are solid or squishy? Mine were solid and they have been here 30 years, mine were locate more to the outside of the pits, rather than in the middle. I had them checkd by a doctor.l

Solid more than soft, and central to my armpit. What did your doctor say there were, if you dont mind me asking no horn?
Can you get to a walk-in centre, if there is one near you, if it's so hard to get a GP appointment?

Getting an appointment isn't the problem, its getting time to go to the doctors, we are snowed under at work just now. but maybe a drop in centre would be better than getting an appointment anyway........
Your health has to come first sometimes though!
EACH armpit, doesnt seem a big deal.
Are the lumps attached to the skin or are they separate from the skin? Can you separate the skin from them? Do you feel well in yourself? Any other symptoms...tiredness, weakness, etc.. How old are you?

No need to panic, just answer the above questions.........almost certainly nothing to worry about.

The lumps are under the skin, I haven't tried to separate them from the skin because they are sore to touch. I'm well every other way, and I have just turned 42....
Thanks......they sound very much like sebaceous cysts. No big deal, but get them checked when you have time.
All lumps should be investigated. Most turn out to be harmless but do try to get a check up for your own peace of mind.
