i was thinking the other night, about the books i used to enjoy when i was a wee nipper..

enid blytons were my all time fave :o)

i can fondly remember the funny short stories of mr meddle and mr twiddle..

and of course there were the famous five books that i just used to love,
i remember being quite envious of all their exciting adventures which always involved a picnic and lashings of ginger beer..

oh and the naughtiest girl in the school and mallory towers books! anyone used to read those too? ohh they were great, loved em all!

soooo, what were among your favourite reads when you were a youngster then?

I loved the Folk of the Faraway tree....I so wanted to live in a tree.
the Chalet series by Eleanor Brent-Dyer, The Narnia series, CS Lewis, Tolkien of course, loads of sci fi Pat Smythe wrote some great books about kids and ponies, How to be Topp (Nigel Molesworth)
only remember reading " jennings " that was in the late 60´s

i remember an enid blyton book cant remember the title it was about a strange man that always offered peppermints to people that were upset

one of them was very forgetful, that i do remember, but i dont think i remember anything about a peppermint though ......?.
I was an avid fan of Roald Dahl as a child. I also loved the story of Peter Pan.
it may of been looby i think a libary trip is in order lol
oh and of course wind in the willows, plus 101 dalmations

blimey, you were a bit of a whizz werent you eddie?
i remember a lad at my first school - gavin b*r*o*s, he used to read sooo fast, he left us all standing.
we were all still working our way through the red, yellow, blue, green books, while he'd moved on to the more advanced story books that were kept on the stand over in the corner of the class room!

gosh yes, ginge, wouldnt it be awful if it really did come to that in the future..!
