Heard it on the news this morning,i wouldnt panic ,not been fully researched as yet...
Yes I do and I am not panicking! I shall leave it to my GP to make the decision whether I stop or not. I have osteo (whatever it is). The thing you get before full blown osteoporosis!!
No and no :D
Yes and no.
they had a big scare like this a few years ago about the longterm affects of taking anti-inflammatories
Lofty.......Osteopenia.
Thanks Sqad. I knew I could rely on you ;o)
Cazz, the cardio team have more or less said that Mr LL's heart attack could well have been due to the use of long term inflammatories for his back problem. He isn't allowed to take them any more!!
Why do women take Calcium supplements for Osteoporosis?
You tell me Sqad. I was just advised to take them by my GP because I don't have much milk intake?? I have loads of sardines though, and I thought they were rich in calcium. To be honest, I forget to take the tablets half the time.
Lofty....you know me well........I am troublemaking ,-)
You, a troublemaker, never.............................
I take a calcium supplement because If I don't I get blood vessel pops in my fingers and toes. I get a hot painful cramp in a digit followed by immediate bruising. the doc I saw (Dr Ima Chocolate Teapot) said he had never heard or seen it before and his and my net research has thrown up nothing, but I find that a couple of days a week taking calmagzinc seems to stop it.
comments?
Lofty....LOL

People with Osteoporosis take Calcium supplements to reduce the number of bone fractures due to thinning of the bone.
woolfgang.....keep on with the calmazinc.
I have had those blood vessel 'pops' in my fingers, an immediate swelling and a dark purple bruise and they are very painful. But the bruise and pain goes really quickly. Unusally beneath a joint. Mr LL has had them from time to time to. Not very often though and not in my toes.
yes and yes.
i take an all-in-one thing from boots menopause range and it contains, among other things, calcium and magnesium. i take it for a couple of reasons, read about it here:
