i put some frozen pork steaks into my slow cooker to cook a casserole for the mrs when she gets in from work later...my question is should i have defrosted them first??? i dont want to give her food poisioning....it has all been simmering away nicely for 3 hours...thanks in advance....

thanks steve id hate to make her ill lol...my sister phoned me and i told her i was cooking and she said i should have defrosted it first,it will be cooked for at least 4 hours slowly so i guess it should be cooked thoroughly...i hope lol

I usually defrost mea first before I slow cook it, apart from frozen suasages, so I guess those are pork and I'm still alive
They'll probably be OK stoke - might just be a bit tough that's all

Just 'oik one out and cut it in half, check its not raw or frozen and that its hot to touch but if it's been in there that long I would think it's cooked.

Stoke.....take the pork out of the slow cooker and nuke em in the micro for a few mins if you're worried
