My dog returned from Spain a week ago, all Frontlined and Wormed up. He's fine in every aspect except that his eyes have begun to weep profusely where this has never happened before. Will he need a trip to the vets? Or is he just getting old now? He's 4 and a half, btw.

Poor Alfie.....

It could be due to change. Whenever I went away as a child I always came up with little lumps in my neck. The doctor said it was home sickness. I think it was 'I miss my Dad sickness...'
Four and a half is not old. I would get him checked by the vet, as it could be an ingrowing eyelash or a blocked tear duct, which if not treated could cause an infection.

Thanks for the replies. I looked at him earlier and his eyes were half closed, leading me to think that the sudden change in pollen may be causing the streaming eyes.
Try giving him a piriton tablet once a day.
Weepy eyes is a symptom of distemper, best you get dog checked at vets.

Take him to the vet, NoM - just to be on the safe side. It could be hay fever, the grass pollen is out at the moment and my cat No 1 Son suffers badly when he does. Worth a check - I wouldn't given any animal human medication unless the vet says it's OK, some human medicine is lethal for animals.
Piriton is recommended by my vet - I would not normally recommend any human medication, without first checking with a vet.
