It was, as I had hoped & prayed, a benign lymph node. Due most likely to her severe prolonged bout of infective eczema this winter making her lymph glands swell & react. Phew! She was cool about it - when we came out of the waiting room & she went back to work, I cried in the car.... daft mare.
anyhow - thanks to you all for your advice, sqad you were right xx

Damn - I had intended to post this in health & fitness. Oh well, everyone knows now.... Thanks anyway all of you - cos I know you post in CB also.
salla that is such good news, I saw you mentioned good news in the early morning post - so glad for you both. And no, daft mare you are now - tears of relief are perfectly acceptable!
Question Author
Thanks box - but I didn't want to draw attention to it or make light of it in chatterbank - but I'm still half asleep this morning....!
Quite right boxtops. Tears of relief are very acceptable.

Better than tears of sorrow anytime. Whatever the weather - I am feeling bright today. It is so nice to share good news.
It's nice to see good news too Tilly.
I did mean to say "daft mare you are NOT" - I went to bed at 830 last night and strangely am even more asleep than usual, this morning!
Question Author
I did read it twice & laughed box - but I sussed what you must have meant! "Daft mare you are now...." would have been funny (and probably true!)
Tee hee.. i bet you feel a tiny bit loopy this morning with the good news anyway, there is nothing like relief for giving you a high!

She's 25 box - I knew it wouldn't be good news if it had been a cancerous lump - not at any age, but particularly at that young age. And there's a strong family history. Anyway, all's well that ends well.
..and she's in the system now, which in a weird way is better - she'll be called back. It's the girls who don't go for checks - or for cervical screening too - who get missed and won't go. I think we're all happy for you both, this morning!

The profession I'm in - I make damn sure I drum it into her the importance of having these tests & mentioning any suspicions. I refer young (& older) ladies every week who have ignored things because of embarrassment or whatever, only for them to suffer needlessly because of it. And young men also - I always remind my son to check his testicles; much to his annoyance - but I bet he does it !!!
Well done Tilly. I'm sure he does!
I'm glad all is well with your daughter salla and as her mum I'd be shocked if you weren't driven to tears of relief given the good news, it shows you care.

I'll never understand peeps who don't take a few minutes out of their lives every now and again to check themselves over (male or female) It can, and often does save a lot of heartache down the line.
what a relief sal, great news :o)
Morning Salla - good news indeed. Went through the same thing myself last week, so I know exactly how it feels.
Question Author
For myself, I wouldn't worry so much - I'm 48 & the odds would be better. I worry about my 'kids' (25 & 27) far more than I worry about myself. I suppose that's part of being a mother eh?
Absolutely - far worse if it's happening to your kids.
Don't ever feel daft for being human.... can I add one big sigh of relief for you
Blessed be...

Rowan
It's always great to hear this kind of good news. That's wonderful salla
