according to one of my science teachers, fatter people sweat less than thin/muscular people, surely this can't be true?

I have no idea mollykins.
But i'm now sitting here with a poorly stomach thinking of sweaty people

Bleurgh
Thanks
I know quite a few fat people and all of them sweat profusely even when not rigorously exercising, I also know lots of thin/muscular people and they only sweat in intense heat or during physical exertion.
Maybe it's because thin people exercise more thus sweat more?
I've seen fat people break out in a sweat soon as they start doing work.
Actually, sensible answer now.
When I have deployed to hot and sandy places; the people who have suffered worst with the heat are the larger individuals.
The skinny folks generally have a more a more stable core temperature, due to a combination of more exercise and healthier living conditions; where as the larger chaps (myself included) sweat like blondes in a spelling test for a while until we get ourselves used to the conditions and improve our levels of fitness.

he had simila reasoning jugs . . . but it still doesn't make sense.
I think your science teacher is talking out of his dung trumpet!
Either that or he's trying to justify his own weight issues by saying "at least I don't have BO"
Question Author
actually its the oposite, he's quite skinny and bikes to school most days, but he says that he hasn't washed his hair for years, because the neatural juices cleanse it, and by his BO, he hasn't washed any other part of his body for just aslong.
Jesus, where do you go to school?????
The bloke sounds horrific!!
Perhaps he has a thyroid or metabolic problem?

i nearly choked on my oatibix jugs, thinking about the man.

remember i go to a school that has someone who is a maths mentor who got an 'e' in their gcse maths, a geography teacher who swore at a maths teacher because he thinks geo is more important even though the maths teacher only wanted to take a person out for one lesson, as they are failing maths and it is more important than geo, my maths group haven't had a teacher thats lasted more than 10 weeks, where the art exams are a farse, where my gay friend is in a class taught by a homophobic teacher, so he is always ignored when needs help, and picked on to answer questions, but nothing can be proven, and according to ofsted, we are a good school.
Life is hard, you need to see a shrink.
I thought my school was bad:
First school in the region to open a creche for the pupils
School had a students smoking area, because there were so many kids leaving the grounds for a fag
Drugs raids
Police made the school grounds part of the parol route

All in all, a cr@phole!

My school is meant to be the best out of the three, in the area aswell, on eof the others, i think the one that has the bra issue, has a police officer permantly based there, honestly, one of the other two does.
From personal experience, having lost 11 stone of weight, I am so cold all the time now that I never seem to sweat, shiver more like. Its wonderful!
well done bigsister, how did you do it?
It stands to reason, that as larger people have a higher percentage of insulating fat, then they well get hotter and sweat more. Your science teacher needs some biology lessons!!
When I was younger(ahem)in winter I would put on a stone in weight, then lose it again, even though my habbits never changed.GP said it was bodys way of protecting itself against cold.
I agree with bigsister(well done by the way)The more I weigh, the hotter I feel, the less, colder.Great for saving on heating bills, but hell in the summer.Sweat was a huge issue last summer having put on weight, but when I was ill and weighing not much I thought I would never sweat again(I wish!!)
I dont know what the connection is,maybe something to do with body defenses but there is one.Maybe I will try and be fat and fit,see if that makes a difference!
