Tipping gents hairdressers

My father taught me to give a 10% tip to my hairdresser, and I still do many years later.

Does everyone else, or am I the biggest mug in town?

I tip as well. If it's a good cut that is....

I'll only tip if I get a 'muff nudge' (the light brushing of my favourite female hairdresser's crotch against my elbow while she leans forward to cut my hair) :-)

I tip my stylist.

Hairdressers get taxed on tips ... even if they don't receive any !!!!!

HMRC assumes that hairdressers receive a percentage of their income as gratuities and, if none are declared, HMRC will impute a figure, and raise a charge to tax.

It's then up to the hairdresser to PROVE that they didn't get tips. And, as we know, proving a negative is pretty well impossible.

Well ... nobody said that tax was fair !

NB. We don't drink in gay bars because we are "that way" ... but because ...

1. Some of them are really jolly.

2. If you avoid gay bars in Brighton, you really narrow down your options !

The only thing that associates me with Brighton is that my Mother was born there.
My Grandmother was born in Switzerland where you go bonking on the Piste JJ ! ;-)
