Seems like the shed is the best option , or you could wrap him in cling film and microwave-- kills all germs I think.!!! Seriously don't try this at home.!
put yourself in the shed. The only sure way of not getting a cold is not to come in contact with someone who has one already. But it might never happen - you may not catch it from him.
The easy way of sailing through a winter without a heavy cold is making sure your body is healthy. This means;
avoiding overheated places
avoiding cold places unless sufficiently clothed
getting enough sleep
eating a healthy diet, plenty of Vit. C
washing hands often
using thyme in soups and stews.
Oh, and avoid kissing an infected person!!!!!

You can get the sniffles but these tips ward off anything more serious.
... or not, since the cause of the cold or flu is a virus, on which home remedies have no effect. jno's advice is the most sound... don't hold hands, don't kiss, don't occupy the same house if possible. Don't rub your eyes or pick your nose, since these are the two most common ways of transmitting the virus.

As was said prviously, you may not catch this particular strain of virus if you became infected previously. Once a person is infected with the type of virus going around at the moment, the infectee will enjoy lifelong immunity to that particular strain. Problem is, most people catch 1 or 2 colds per year and there are an estimated 275 or so known, non-mutated cold virus'... same thing for flu...
If the boyfriend has had the cold and you've been around him, chances are you're gonna catch it anyway... Sorry...
I take a soluble vitamin C tablet every morning as I heard the doesn't absorb it or something. Haven't had a cold (aka man flu) for years
I always take Vit C + Zinc every day - and have not had a cold in about two years *touches wood*
Zinc is what you need, to bolster your immune system.
Agreed Panic button - its the Zinc that makes the difference!!
... oh, and forget the nookie.
This is supposed to cure:
Measure out 3/4 cup of water into a pan and bring it to a boil.

Step 2

Lower the heat to a simmer and put in a cinnamon stick, three tablespoons of sugar, and a teaspoon of table salt.

Step 3

Cook the mixture for ten minutes, stirring continuously.

Step 4

Add the liquorice root to the pan to cook and stir the mixture counterclockwise for ten full minutes. While stirring, repeat the phrase: "Horrescere dirimo et cessare hodie" until the ten minutes are up. Phonetically it's pronounced, "Hor-ech-air-ay dur-ee-moe et says-are-ay hoe-dee-ay." The translation is "Shivers stop and leave right now."

Step 5

Add another three tablespoons of brown sugar to the pan. The liquorice root has powerful healing properties but can be acidic and therefore bitter. A positive mindset can be important when fighting an illness, so it's best not to disturb that with unpleasant sensations such as bad taste.

Step 6

Strain the mixture and pour it into a bottle, but let it cool to room temperature before corking it.

Step 7

Repeat the phrase: "Horrescere dirimo et cessare hodie" once before corking the bottle and once before taking each dose. Take one teaspoonful in the morning and another before bed, repeating the phrase before putting the spoon in your mouth each time. The cold will disappear within three days.

That's what the Witches website said, anyway, LOL
Hubble bubble toil and trouble, eh, Androcles? I take Selinium ACE pills and although my wife had the Flu two weeks ago, I only got a sniffle.
My OH and I usually avoid passing virus's to each other.

Don't kiss on the mouth.
Always use a tissue to sneeze into and bin it after.
Wash hands frequently to avoid putting the virus onto surfaces.
Take a high dose vit C tablet only during the course of the virus, not all the time.
