Sqad - just wanted to update you on the progress of the lump in my leg. Yesterday, I saw privately a Neuro-oncologist in London. He has primarily diagnosed the lump as Focal Myositis - a rare benign pseudo-tumour, which mimics the symptoms of a Sarcoma. I am having a biopsy next Thursday (11/2) in the Neurology Hospital, Queen Sq, London.

Not sure what the treatment will be if it turns out to be this thing, but it's nice to have a name to put to it!

Do you have any knowledge of Focal Myositis or know of the treatment / prognosis?

Cheers

humpy.....thank you very much for that interesting update.

Focal myositis.....I had never heard of this before and had to look it up.

Pseudo-tumour is a well recognized condition and I have had limited experience of it's treatment.

Neurology Hospital, Queens Square...on of the best Neurology Units in the world...you will get superb treatment. ( There is a very nice pub on the corner of Queens Square opposite the hospital that does great pub lunches)

This is a benign condition....nothing at all to do with malignancy.

The treatment will be surgical excision and the prognosis is good.

Thanks again for your feedback and please keep me informed as I am very interested.
