Hello, I am applying for a postion which I really need to get but I am sort of stuck on a question asked in the apllication. I understand the question but cannot for the life of me think of examples. Any suggestions?

"The Business Development Unit works with confidential student information. Give two examples of how this might cause a conflict of interest or other problem for the Clerical Assistant and suggest what could be done to resolve each problem"

Thank you, I really need this job and I dont want to mess it up

would be helpful to know what the business development unit does and what the clerical assistant does?

I have not much of an idea, hence why I am struggling to answer, I just know I would be the assistant and its dealing with college students applying for nvqs I believe
The Clerical Assistant may have access to information about a family member or a close friend, which the CA may feel the individual should be made aware of. The resolution is that the information is confidentiality and that confidentiality cannot be breached even for what may be perceived as a valid reason. The Clerical Assistant must remain mindful of his or her responsibility to his or her employer, and assure that the information is not passed to any outside individual or organisation for any reason.

The Clerical Assistant may have access to information that direclty affects a work colleague and the Clerical Assistant may be in a position to influence a situation as a result of access to that information. The Clerical Assistant must remember that access to information does not entitle him or her to take action involving that information, and must therefore ensure that no interference, direct or indirect, is allowed to take place as a result of exposure to that information.

Hope this helps.
