If you don't let them take control at some point they'll be 40 and living at home!

I bet anything you like in a couple of years' time he may well go the opposite end of the spectrum and have his head shaved. From hippie to skinhead in one fell swoop - that's kids for you!

Cut a chunk of hair off - on forehead or ear area. Find him a sparky/trendy/young female stylist & book him in............if he doesn't turn up she'll be on the fone - chasing the head for her income!

n.b. dont mess with stylists - they carry sharp scissors, legally!

As long as it's clean why does it matter. Being a youth in the 60's means I totally love long hair on young men.
Let him be himself. It shouldn't be an issue.

My 11 year old has long hair. I've mentioned getting it cut loads of time and I'm just told NO. So be it. It actually quite suits him but he moans when it comes to brushing it.

My son coloured his lovely naturally thick blonde hair red when he was 15. It was in that 'curtains' style that was so fashionable in the 90's. I just let him get on with it. School wasn't impressed! He wasn't so keen when it faded to a lovely shade of pink and he had to wait until it grew out.

That's what being a teenager is all about.

If he is at school do they allow it? If yes, as long as it's kept clean, not a problem.
If he is looking for work....could be an issue if its too long.

I have the opposite - my son keeps getting his hair cut short and I say let it grow a bit.

You don't. As long he keeps it clean and respectable, long hair on a lad is absolutely fine.
