water retention

Last night and most days I could drink about 6-8 pints of water alone. Just before bedtime I could manage a trickle so today I have taken a fluid tablet .

I know in an half an hour I will go a lot but whilst that was the last tablet I really would not want to take these. My ankles are fine and my stomach is not too protruded - is there any thing natural out there that would make me go. Beer makes me go like hell but alas when it comes to the water no go. Thanks for any replies

Let me get this clear in my own mind....you drank 8pints of water and the only urine you passed was a "trickle" of urine all day?

Did it happen for the first time last night, or is this a regular thing?

Drink beer and you pass urine regularly, drink water and you don't.

Why have I got the feeling that this is a thread with an unsatisfactory ending?
Flippin Heck!! that's a lot of water every day. Do you drink other things on top of that?
Why do you drink this much? Have you been advised to?

In answer to your question, Dandelion tea, green tea and Echinacea are all diuretics but I wouldn't drink any of those ON TOP of your daily intake.

would be a regular thing even my friends cannot get over the amount of water I drink and dont pass it.
Bananas are excellent diuretics. Perhaps you could do with a good liver and kidney cleanse. Try juicing beetroot, carrot, orange, lemon and ginger (in that order) and drinking a glass a day for 5-7 days. Also, if your bowels are not functioning efficiently, that can slow down the waterworks, and vice versa.
conne.....if you do not have a distended bladder and if you have no ankle sweling, no shortness of breath and feel well than I should not worry a jot.
