Today I was sat in an exam and my stomach wouldn't stop rumbling. It was so loud and people were turning around to look at me! It was so embaressing and as I was in a silent exam hall it didn't help. It was happennig all the time really loudly which has never happened before. It happend every couple of minutes for at least 45 minutes I got an another exam tomorrow and don't want it to happen again as I couldn't concentrate on my exam I was so put off by it. Any one got any ideas why it happens and how I can make it stop? I thought it only happend when you were hungry as you had an empty stomach but I had my exam first thing on the morning only an hour or so after breakfast so wasn't hungry at all thanks x

Borborygmi (which is nothing more than the posh name for a rumbling stomach) can be triggered by anxiety and nervousness (as in an exam!).

Peppermint or charcoal based preparations can help. Simply have a word with your local pharmacist and he/she will be able to suggest something suitable.

this used to happen to me in exams so i used to drink slimfast before i went in and we were allowed to take mints/sweets in with us - i used to take rolos as the choc stopped my stomach rumbling....

I was nervous for this exam so that must be what triggered it.
