I have stress symptoms - Psoriasis all over the body except face, and am constantly anxious with fast heart beat and not sleeping well.
I wonder if anyone can suggest a natural remedy? or any over the counter medicines that someone can recommend?
Thanks

Not an over the counter remedy, and dont know where you live, but i would strongly recommend you try out a flotation tank.

It is very soothing and relaxing and they known to be excellent for reducing stress and helping you calm down and tune out. The minerals in the salts in the water, are also very good for the actual psoriasis itself.

dont know where you live to know where there is a centre near you, but this is some info on floating from the place that i go to.

I go about every 3 months when i start to feel stressed and tense from work. I would go more often if i had more time and money!

My advice would be to visit your gp and get your blood pressure checked
Hope you feel better soon

Thanks for the suggestions, blood pressure is actually low !
I'm a chilled out sort of bloke but just at the moment I'm trying to get the best degree I can at university and looking for a job and got money trouble and got kids, and got a lazy wife....blah blah......
it will be okay if I get a decent degree and then find a job !
Bach flower remedy is not one remedy but a suite of different types for different conditions. You need the right one for your problems. However Rescue Remedy is a general purpose good start.

I highly recommend the herb Valarian for your anxiety. It makes a nice tea and is very calming.

Psoriasis is often aggravated by many soaps. Goat's milk soap is much better for it. My wife gets outbreaks of Psoriasis if she uses any other type of soap.

I would also suggest you take up yoga. This can be very calming and stabilising.

hello iggle, i hope you are stress-free today!
I just wanted to say, I read your thread with interest as I too get stressed and want to avoid it.
I have a job, three kids and money worries, so I understand a bit.
I have had an unconditional offer for a foundation degree at uni this september and couldn't decide whether to take it.
You've made up my mind for me - i'm not going to do it. It will be just another thing to get stressed about. The indecisiveness was stressing me out too!
Now that I've made a decision, I feel better all ready!
Thanks, and good luck x
Iggle, Here are a couple of natural remedies....

St Johns Wort capsules (they are cheap and readily available), they are a natural remedy for stress and anxiety. Try taking 1 or 2 500mg capsules every evening. They take about two or three weeks to work.

For sleeping, try valerian (nature's valium). This again can be bought from the supermarket. The proprietory brand is NatraSleep.

For your psoriasis - get some sunshine and keep the skin well moisturised. 10 mins on a sunbed every few days might also give you a boost.

I bet once the stress is under control, the psoriasis calms down!

Also, hypnotherapy for your exam stress might help. Although it's not cheap, it's effective.

Best of luck!
