Hates!

I hate having my haircut - I hate it with an absolute passion: I hate the fact that I have to pay for it, and I hate the fact that they ask me if I'm at work today when I'm sitting there in a suit.

In fact, I hate every aspect of the entire experience.

I've now taken to cutting my own hair with the kitchen scissors - which is sending the other half bananas - on the basis that I can always disguise any major mistakes with wax or gel - so far I've done OK.

So, what do you guys hate with a passion and what lengths do you go to to avoid doing it.

I absolutely hate, dislike............LIQUORICE,

Trust me peanut, we'd love to be paying the equivalent of $2 a gallon for gas (petrol): I appreciate that the UK gallon is slightly bigger than the US gallon, but we're paying about 4 a gallon - which equates to roughly $6.
Being the only person in my house who will change the sodding bin bag! Why do they just keep stuffing ready meal cartons on top of the bin until they fall off and litter the kitchen floor? Get a new bag! It's not difficult!
New Forester I always thought you were a woman for some reason. You are a man aren't you? With size 13 wellies and a beard? I hope so.

Peanut and flanker -- 4 or $6 a gallon is still ridiculously cheap -- what we are saving in cash we are spending with our environment, and that of our descendants.

We have no hope of stopping global warming until the cash cost of fuel includes the realistic cost to the environment -- which might actually stop people using it like water.  $20 a gallon would still be very cheap indeed.

So that's something I really hate -- treating the environment as if it can be used up and doesn't matter.

Have to agree with georgit about the bin bag thing (I live with four men), and the age old changin of the toilet roll (or using up the last and not bothering to replace it). That also goes for milk. Another really massive bugbear of mine is people who say 'pacific' instead of 'specific' (It's a fluffing ocean!!). I'm sure there's plenty more.
I am likely to get slated for this .... but a large proportion of women who name their kids any of the following: Britney, Courtenay, Beyonce, Brooklyn, Wayne, Shane, Dwayne, Destiny, etc and squawk their names really loud "COURTENAAAAAY, STOP SMACKING YOUR BRUVVER"
I'm another one who hates getting my hair cut. I have a terrible fear that they'll make a mess of it and I'll have to hide indoors for weeks. I've forced myself twice this year, first time went fine and last time it was just all wrong and hasn't really recovered yet. It was the same guy who cut it too so I can't even figure out what went wrong. People from two different well known hair salons have stopped me in the street and asked me to go and model for them (cos of the colour, not cos I'm stunningly attractive lol) and I refused cos I'm so terrified of them. I cut the dry ends with nail scissors myself and haven't come a cropper with that yet, so I'll probably stick to that in future. Another thing I hate is when I get all my nails really nice and long and then they all start breaking off and it looks really rubbish...I've had two go in the past 48hrs and now I'm gonna have to file all the rest down, grr.

Oh Natalie, you have really made me giggle!  Cheered my morning up.

People (men) who give me advice when I'm playing pool. Aaaaarghhhh !!!

People who over -use words/phrases such as "basically", "at the end of the day",  "fair enough", "whatever". At least, I don't hate the people who do it, I hate that habit. Also, I don't like the use of the word "knackered". The use of the word "tea" when they mean dinner.

Ladies wearing lots of fake rings and cheap red lipstick, nicotine stained teeth, ladies with big rear ends who wear tight trousers, people raising their voices (excluding telling off little kids) the lack of the words "please" "thank you" "excuse me" "sorry".

People having lots of piercings or tattoos, people trying to discuss your bereavements, and personal matters in public, feeling cold, messy rooms, loads of washing and ironing left undone, people advising you too much when they are not your parent, your spouse, your boss or a friend you look up to, back seat drivers, rude people, reptiles, bad breath and tv shows with swearing, vulgarity and ribald jokes.

Dark Angel you reminded. A hugh thing for me is goth's, grungers, whatever they call themselves, not the actually goths themselves but the fact that they all claim that they get peirced, etc to be "individual". They all look the bl00dy same! Black clothes, hair, make up, nail varnish, massive platform boot things, S&M type gear (not Marks and Spencers - tho that would be funny if they wore cardy's), silver jewellery wherever possible, facial peircings wherever possible and 9 times out of ten a striped shirt/ jersey under all the black. How individual is that?
I HATE going to have my hair cut too! I am glad there are others out there like me - i thought i was a freak! My mum's friend used to come round and trim my hair but since she stopped that a good few years ago i have been in a terrible situation. i get soooo anxious of going into the hairdressers and have only been twice in about 2-3 years. i like having my hair long, so it's not the length that bothers me. but when the ends get all dry and nasty and i know i need a few inches off... i start to panic. i need to find a friend who can cut it! i hate the way hairdressers talk to me, so patronising. i am sure they are disgusted at my home hair dye job and they just always make me feel like i know nothing about fashion hair - which usually wouldn't bother me...but i feel like they hate me because i haven't got 'normal' colour hair and i don't want it 'textured' and 'layered' - i hate them for intimidating me like this!
Zoe Slater (same hair cut, make up and clothes since she was 11 or started in EE and when papped in magazines - why not make an effort NOT to look like your character when you're not working??), Lyn Slater (Why was she even in it?), all the Ferreras (no explaination needed but especially Addy and Sasha), Martin Fowler (get your hair cut and have you got more than one 'acting' face - that one when his jaw drops and he says "Sonia").
I refer the honourable questionner to my list of 135 pet hates.
free minutes on mobiles. i have a friends who call me nearly everyday after 7 or all day weekends just so they can use their free minutes. they have absolutely nothing to say of any interest because i've spoken to them the day before. if i'm not home a get a call on my mobile. theres no escape. have started to screen all my calls now.
"Celebrity" magazines. I really don't care what Jade wears when she goes to Tescos, and I certainly don't need to see a photo of it!

Natalie_1982, the goths thing is so true and I've been going on about it for years! You crack me up...

also love the pacific/specific thing too..

People talking as if everything is a question? You know with that inflection at the end of the sentence? I believe it started with Australian soaps? It makes me so mad?
