It happens with age - prostate trouble probably.

Could be nothing to worry about (ie, treatable) and the worst he can expect initially is the doctors finger up his bum, which apparently is the best way of examining.

Thanks postdog
That's a shame to hear. Talking of hospitals, my 83 year old mother was in hospital last week for around 4 days. She tends to get lonely and panics about nothing, so presses the pendant alarm worn around her neck.

I've told her n numerous ocassions, her pendant alarm is for emergencies only, but she never listens to me. Anyway, they sent an ambulance and carted her off to hospital.

She wasn't happy and moaned the whole time she was there, refusing to take her medication, as she was convinced they were trying to murder her. In the end, they just sent her home. She told them she knew they were going to kill her, just like they killed her husband (my father).

Oh dear Velvetee...........such a shame.........my dad is terrified of hospitals,I suppose its the not knowing that scares him.
Well Christine, she was also in hospital last year for about a month. She was quite alert and bright when she went in, but after she came out seemed different, it's as though she now has Dementia.

velvetee ,Have you not been able to get her to see a doctor since?
There are numerous health sites on the web but I think this will answer your question fully

I've spoken to her doctors and no one seems interested. She even needs new false teeth and I got her denist to refer her to a clinic that specialises in treating people with disabilities, but they eventually decided she didn't warrant going there. I've also tried to get social services and her care managers to help, no one seems bothered though. I just keep hitting obstacles.
