Loosing weight

I recently lost a stone and 3 pounds, I went from being 11st 5lb to now being 10st 2lb.

The problem is, I don't know how I did it! I didn't really change what I've been eating and haven't been doing any exercise. I probably don't need to loose that much more weight, I think I'm in the healthy range for my height ( 5 ft 6) but I still want to loose a bit more off of my stomach and hips, plus the fact that I've started comfort eating because of things going on at home and at school means I'll need to try extra hard to even keep this weight off!

I'm 17 and in my last year at school, I'm finding it hard to find time to exercise along with studying and other things.
Is the only way to loose more weight to make time to exercise or are there other things I can do?

I heard that cutting out carbohydrates and sugar can make you loose weight but I always thought that completely cutting out any food stuffs was bad for you?!

a brisk 15 minuet walk is just as good as going too the gym.
a good work out dvd might be worth trying,(personally i find these boring) suger is empty callories so isnt neccessary to your diet.good carbs are any thing that isn`t laden with fat,i.e brown bread low fat spread(yuk) eat lots of fish/meat and veg and cut down on white pasta and potatos.HTH.
Well I`ve recently lost weight through stress (a bereavement) but at your age it could be a growth spurt and as I`m not too sure of your gender if you are otherwise healthy I wouldn`t worry too much.
Exercise is crucial for tummy areas etc and don`t out food groups just eat sensibly.

Take care

One of your legs has fallen off?
hello,

dont listen to these fad diets that cut out one thing, like carbs!! its bad for you and can have long term effects, your organs actually need all the essentials, like fat, protein, carbs etc

good on ya for loosing it, if you just have a bit off your belly to loose id say just keep eating healthy, and exercise, do some situps each day and you will soon see a difference,

the thing about fad diets are... they may work for a while but as soon as you stop them you put the weight back on! this is simply because your body has got used to being without and now feels like it needs to store!!!

:o)
Losing not loosing!!
If you're stressed up about exams etc this can boost your metabolism up so you're using up a lot more calories (so can smoking if you've taken that up but that's a bit silly). To keep it off make sure you don't munch on crisps, biscuits, sweets or cakes when studying (your hand automatically goes to the packet and before you know it the packet's finished) but sip on water, fruit juice, tea or have an apple. HTH
had a big dump recently?

Thanks zxyvixy, mamyalynne, onlyme26 and coccinelle.

I thought these diets where you completely cut things out were bad for, good to know they are =]

And yeah coccinelle that's what I used to do all the time when I was studying, It's amazing how much you eat without realising it!

Thanks for the advice all, I'll start doing sit ups and hopefully that'll work!
And eat healthily of course =]

Thanks again!
