Cholestorol levels are totally unrelated to whether people are fat or thin.
mostdefinitely.
absolutely - one of my aunt's is naturally very slim weighing about 7.5 stone and has massively high cholesterol. My other aunt is very very large .... at least a size 30!! Her cholesterol is very low. Prrof that high cholestrol and obesity do not necessarily come hand in hand.
Good grief yes. It actually gets me quite cross when people assume that overweight people have high cholesterol. Is it because they sit around all day eating pigs? Having high cholesterol is more to do with the amount your body produces. If it's over-zealous, your arteries can get furred up. Apparently it's a genetic thing. My sister's husband has high cholesterol and he is about 9 stone! His brother and Dad all had heart disease at a very young age, so in his case it is genetic. Mind you, cholesterol is only present in the body from eating saturated fat, mainly found in meat and meat products. So, if you are worried about it, cut down on those!
My mother in law's skinny as a whippet and got high cholesterol, she swears that with thinner people it stays in the blood and on larger people it's distributed over the body so they have lower cholesterol.
