Hi everyone
Just need a bit of advice.I quit smoking nearly 11 months ago, apart from putting 3 stone on (got to tackle that next) I feel great.
I do experience a tickly cough which seems to be worse when I lie down in bed of a night time.I know that you can get a withdrawl cough after quitting but Is this normal after this amount of time or do I need to see the Dr.

The cough comes and goes. Not asthmatic as far as I'm aware
Cough in a person who has been a long term smoker, although given it up needs to be taken seriously. See yr GP

it's more of a tickle that makes you cough then trying to clear the chest
yeah its like just a tiny bit of the tubes that dries up if you know what i mean, ive been to the doc about it and mine is nothing, have it checked out anyway hun and get the all clear, ive noticed taking a puff of an inhalor gets rid too BTW im not asthmatic either the doc said it would help with me coming off from cigs

Thanks to everyone for their advice. Will give it a few more days then will see Dr if no better
It is probably Catarrh dribbling down your throat when you lie down, try steam inhalation three times a day, this will probably cure it.
I'm with Sqad, best to get it checked out just in case.
It could be a touch of acid reflux as you've put on weight. The acid comes out of your stomach a bit when you lie down and irritates your oesophagus making you want to cough. You can get medication to reduce the acid but losing weight would probably help.
