As a single parent I was chatting to some fellow ab'ers about never having the opportunity to go out because my baby although home needs specialist care that only me or my mum can provide etc etc.
So its been years since I have had a night out and I have not even had an hour in the last 18 months without them but guess what!!!!
I am having a weekend away with my friends next weekend and I cant wait, but the other half of me does not want to go and leave my girls its only for 2 nights and I wont be far away but I feel guilty leaving them!! Do you think i am being selfish or should I just go and have fun?
My mum is a specialist neonatal nurse so they are probably safer with her lol!!

Thanks guys I think it will do us all good as I will be recharged when I get home, it will just be nice not to have to adjust monitors give drugs do endless physio and mess with tubes for 2 days obviously (I know that probably sounded awful but it is relentless) I would do anything for my girls I really would but I really need this break caring for my baby is a 24/7 round the clock business and quite frankly doing it alone has exausted me.
Right I will go and have fun and stop trying to justify having 2 nights off lol
Thanks max n 2shortplanks x x will send you a postcard lol
you should go and have a lovely time pinkbunny, you sound as if you are a credit to your kids,im sure you deserve some fun as well.....GO FOR IT...... lol
Ooooooooh yes please!
And you know what? You have to get yourself a new dress, or shoes, or something else you like, and you'll feel like a million dollars too! Doesn't have to be expensive, just treat yourself to something you like, as well as the week end away, and feel good! xxx
Don't go. It is the most selfish act you can possible do. I shall being ring Esther Rantzen myself to report this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only joking. A break away will do you wonders and recharge all your cells.

Have fun and don't get too pickled!!!!
Wardy, I think being betrothed has done you a world of good, man! :O)
GO GO GO! Being a mom and a medical caregiver on top of it must be exhausting. Go and recharge yourself. Sleep a little and have a lot of fun!!
Sorry for hijacking, Pinkbunny...
EngTeach, I think one of our friends is in NY right now!
Pinkbunny it will do you a huge amount of good to recharge your batteries. Squeeze in a little tlc before you go to put yourself in the mood, it doesnt have to be expensive, some new make-up or do your nails in some outrageous colour.
Have fun girl!!!!!!
Max, Is it Jenny? I remember her saying she'd be here. Hope she's having fun.
It's Jenna. I had no idea she was going!

If I ever go to NY, as I hope I will one day, I'll be sure to contact you! I bet you know all the best places to go! :O)

Don't feel bad at all! Get yourself away and have some fun!!!! You are not being selfish at all, it certainly sounds like you deserve a weekend away with friends.

.....And yes a treat is definately in order to help start off your holiday, followed by even more treats whilst you are away :o)
A pair of shoes, a new dress, a toyboy...What's the difference babe! They all make you feel good about yourself, and quite rightly so! ;O)
