I have naturally curly hair and cannot find a hairdreser who can style my hair nicely, I always come out with my hair looking really frizzy, or like I've had a bad perm- does anyone know of any hairdressers that specialise in doing curly hair? I live in London, there must be one somewhere?

Erm...i dont live in london. But you can get your hair chemically straightened which does cost alot but your hair stays permanantly straight for about a year, i think. My friend has afro style hair and shes getting it done. I think you can get it done pretty much anywhere?!?! hope this helps!
Ok just decided to read thru your question...do you want curly hair or straight hair? But you have curly hair already so how exactly do you want it done?(i dont think i quite understand) sorry...
Whatever you do, dont get it chemically straightened, it dosent work and wrecks your hair. It took me over a year to get nice hair again after doing that.
i have same problem.i found a wonderful hairdresser in manchester, which is a bit crap cos i now live in devon so only get myhair done when im visitin my folks.she sez curly hair should never be cut wen its wet,as each curl is different.i also had it chemically straightened once.disaster, dont do it.

thanks- I want to keep it curly as it doesn't really suit me straight- and it is nice when i do it myself- but just really want someone to do a good cut and to seem to know what they are doing when they deal with it...often hairdresers don't really seem to look at how curly it is when you come in, and then cut it like they would straight hair- then get surprised when it springs right up when they dry it. So many curlies seem to have the same problem- definitely a niche in the market!
I have exactly the same problem as you, whenever I find a good hairdresser they move away! I find the best thing to do is to call a few salons and ask if anyone working there has curly hair. I've always had the best cuts from someone with curly hair. I would also advise against straitening agents, I had L'real Extenso put on my hair about 6 months ago and it looks dry and awful. Was supposed to be a smoothing agent to make it look like Sarah Jessica Parkers when it's curly - really didn't work!!
I also have the same problem. I live in London and need to find a good hairdresser who can deal with mad curly hair ! (Most Can't) So I too would appreciate any recommendations. I thought about looking up afro salons in london so if you know of any good ones let me know. Thanks.
I recently had my hair cut at Charles Worthington and they actually put it up for me in a style I had never tried before which was nice!
